Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart from home to Ottawa, Canada - Travel to Wakefield Mill Inn & Spa. A short 25minute drive from downtown Ottawa. Check in time 4:00pm. Welcome drinks at 6:00pm in the Fireplace Lounge on the main floor. Dinner is at 7:30pm, 4-course Table d'hôte
Day 2 - 7:00am - 9:30am meet in the main lobby and within walking distance start to capture the beauty of the Fall Colours in the Gatineau Park. 10:00am Enjoy a full country breakfast at the Inn. 11:00am - 2:00pm Free time for relaxation. 2:00pm - 4:00pm Observation & projection of the days images. 5:00pm - 7:00pm Wakefield Steam Train 7:30pm Dinner is served, 4-course Table d'hôte
Day 3 - 7:00am - 9:30am visit local Wooden Covered Bridge just outside Wakefield & surrounding countryside. 10:00am Enjoy a full country breakfast at the Inn. 11:00am - 2:00pm Free time for relaxation. 2:00pm - 4:00pm Observation & projection of the days images. 5:00pm - 7:00pm Another opportunity to capture images. 7:30pm Dinner is served, 4-course Table d'hôte
Day 4 - 7:00am - 9:30am Another opportunity to capture images. 10:00am Enjoy a full country breakfast at the Inn. 12:00am Noon Check-out

This is your chance to experience the world renown Gatineau Park at it's peak of Fall Colour while enhancing your photographic knowledge and talent. Be a part of the countryside that boasts the most intense colours of the Northern Hemisphere. Capture it all in an intensive weekday workshop at the spectacular Wakefield Mill and Spa; Gourmet meals, luxurious spa, tranquil surroundings and expert photographic tutoring.

Discover the colours that excited so many famous Canadian artists and photographers to make their own interpretations of this region. Capture the essence of the Eastern Canadian Fall Colours, scenery and unique settings with our experienced photographer to guide you.

During the 3 day workshop:

  • Our photographer will guide and teach you how to improve your vision, develop your skills and capture your impressions of this journey through time.
  • You will have the opportunity to create a portfolio of photographic images that will bear witness to the events and many layers of culture that come together in this unique area.
  • You will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this magical city through your discoveries, your enhanced awareness and the images you capture.
  • Suggestions and coaching will be given on how to capture your best images as you develop an awareness for your surroundings.
  • SLR digital capture / digital observation on Digital Projector
  • Each day has scheduled activities and ample time to explore the quaint village of Wakefield or simply relax.
  • Groups are small to ensure quality feedback and coaching (limit 8)
  • Individual instruction will strengthen your aesthetic sensibility and technical
    know-how
  • Regular sessions are scheduled to review and discuss your images and progress

Tour Registration and Policy

  • Tour fee is $975.00 CAD plus GST. Airfare is additional.
  • A digital SLR, tripod and laptop with viewing software is required to take
    this workshop (NO point and shoot)
  • Limited to 8 photographers per tour. Apply early as tours sell out fast.
  • A deposit of $750 CAD must accompany your registration.
    (includes nonrefundable registration fee of $75)
  • Payment in full is due 60 days prior to the start of a tour.

Participants

  • Participants should have a working knowledge of their equipment and good basic knowledge of photographic techniques.
  • We suggest that you take a basic photography course before you join our tour.
  • Most activities will require a moderate level of physical fitness. It will be necessary to walk reasonable distances
    each day, climb stairs, moderate hills.
  • In order to capture the optimum light you may be expected
    to rise a couple of hours before sunrise on certain days.
